Frequently Asked Questions

How long will my makeup take on my wedding day?

The brides makeup usually takes an hour to complete from start to finish. A Bridesmaid or other bridal party members makeup ranges from 30-45 minutes.

How long have you been doing makeup?

I have been doing bridal, photography, and special occasion makeup for 7 years now, and I have enjoyed every minute of it. I started working with a Hot Tomato Portraits, a photography studio, and I am still working there!

When do we need to schedule the bridal preview?

We can get your preview on the books as soon as you book. I do prefer the bridal preview to be done 6-8 weeks prior to the actual date of your wedding. When the preview is done closer to the date it allows the look to stay fresh in your mind.

What is the booking process for a wedding?

The booking process is SUPER simple. I require a contract to be completed between myself and the client. This protects both of us. I also require a retainer fee. Once both of those have been completed you have secured me as your makeup artist. I do not do bridal previews without both the contract and retainer to be submitted. * the retainer fee does not go towards the wedding day balance.*

Do you also do wedding hair?

Nope.

Would you be open to using my own make-up?

Due to the current conditions with COVID-19 I do not use a clients personal makeup kit. I have stocked my kit with high end makeup for a reason. The makeup I carry performs really well and I trust it. However, if you are wanting me to use your makeup due to sensitivity, a skin allergy, or condition PLEASE let me know and we will work together to make sure you are cared for.

Which brands of products do you use?

I carry high end professional quality products. I do not carry just one brand in my kit. Within many different brands products preform differently and I test a TON of products.

What will happen if I need to reschedule due to Covid-19?

We are all trying to stay safe and healthy so reschedules happen. I do allow ONE transfer of wedding date. If you exceed the one transfer, you are required to pay another retainer fee.

How many people are you able to accommodate for wedding makeup day-of?

I am comfortable doing 8 makeup applications within a party before I will hire a second artist. This also can vary based upon the time line the day of your wedding. I will also work with you to set up a time line for how much allotted time I will need per face and per sanitation process.

Will my fake tan affect my makeup application?

If you are a bride that wants that golden glow I highly recommend spray tans over tanning beds. Spray tans are a great alternative to achieve a healthy looking glow while avoiding skin cancer. If you decide to get a spray tan I do suggest you tell the sprayer to avoid your face. I am more than capable of matching your skin tone to your chest and neck.

What skin prep should I do before my wedding day?

I highly recommend facials and we go over this the day of your bridal preview. Skincare facials are not a one size fits all recommendation.

How do I know if I want airbrush or traditional makeup?

If you have never had your makeup done you may not know what type of application will work best for you and that is O.K. ! Traditional Makeup provides a fuller coverage base than airbrushing. Airbrush makeup CAN last much longer than traditional makeup, but it is all dependent on the artist. Regardless of whether you’re using airbrush or traditional makeup, it will depend on your specific skin type. This is something we can fully cover during your bridal preview.
